Camp Coddington is known for our successful CIT program. The CIT Program is open to teens at least 15 years old with prior experience attending a summer camp who are interested in learning leadership and job skills. The opportunity is a fun-filled first employment experience. We focus on development of skills relating to being a camp counselor, teamwork, effective communication, problem-solving techniques, volunteering, applying and interviewing, and professional development.
The program includes regularly scheduled workshops, shadowing senior counselors, and leading planned activities. All CITs are required to work as scheduled, participate in the training program, and adhere to a job description and directives from the Community Programs Manager and Camp Director. Afternoon snack is provided. CITs are responsible for bringing their own lunch.
Additional Information: A portion of the funding for our Counselor in Training program is provided by the Joint Youth Commission. Youth applicants from the Town of Ithaca, Village of Cayuga Heights, Village of Lansing and Town of Caroline will be given first priority for positions in these programs.
