***PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS***
Kids ages 6-10 are invited to participate in Virtual Reading Buddies, a new program at the library which partners kids who want to sharpen their reading skills with trained teen volunteers. Children and teens will read to each other for a half hour once a week for six weeks using Zoom. All sessions will be monitored by library staff.
Participants will need a device (computer or laptop, iphone, Android phone, etc.) with Zoom downloaded AND a camera or webcam.
Teen volunteers will choose e-books to read with your child based on answers provided in the registration form and/or by choosing a book during their reading session using the library's digital hoopla service. If your child already knows what book they would like to read, please list it in this form and we will try to have it ready. Your child may also read a physical book from home if that is preferred or you may use the library's Book Bundle Form to request materials for curbside pickup:
https://forms.gle/4ge2FxNA1PgLah25AAfter you register, a link to a Zoom meeting will be emailed to the email address provided on this form. All participants will join the same meeting, and then reading buddies will be assigned to virtual breakout rooms where they can read to each other. Library staff will be monitoring the breakout rooms, however, for safety and in case of technical issues, we ask an adult to be nearby during this program.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call the library at (609) 345-2269 x.3051 or email the Youth Services Librarian at
