--The Farmers pledge to do their best to produce healthy, fresh, abundant Biodynamically grown produce, and deliver it weekly to central distribution points in the East Bay, San Francisco and Sonoma County. The produce will be distributed through Members-only Farmstands or pre-packed share boxes depending on the site.
--The Farm Members pledge to support the farm through collectively funding the annual operations budget and learning about and collectively meeting other farm needs (communication, understanding farm practices, etc.).
--Our system of Farm Membership pledges is based on a "give what you can, receive what you need" system where the community as a whole pledges to meet the annual farm budget. The Farmers pledge to share the farm's budget needs honestly, incorporating Member feedback and suggestions as appropriate. The Members pledge to honestly evaluate their needs and financial capacities and pledge accordingly. Thus, each member commits an appropriate share of the budget and receives the produce their family needs.
--If the Member Pledges added together do not equal the annual operations budget, we will conduct 2nd and 3rd pledge rounds via email until the budget is met; or reduce the budget.
--The Farm Membership is a yearly commitment and is non-refundable. In spite of this, if a change needs to be made please contact the Farmers to discuss options. We ask that you continue your membership until your replacement can be found.
--The Farmers pledge to use Biodynamic farming practices, to continually evaluate the farm's environmental, economic & social sustainability, and to actively work to reduce the use of off farm inputs of any kind. Synthetic fertilizers and pesticides will not be used. Farm Members may ask to review the Farm's practices at any time.
--The produce season runs for approximately 36-40 weeks (depending on weather) from mid or late March through early December. During the season we will be closed (no delivery) for 3 weeks of vacation. We will attempt to give extra during the weeks prior to vacation weeks.
--All of the produce delivered is grown on our farm unless otherwise specified. Members may as a group decide to make arrangements with other farms for additional items. These will be an additional charge paid directly to the producer.
--We plan for an abundant harvest for our members. Our harvest will, however, start slower in the spring, gain momentum in the summer and fall, and shrink again in the late fall. There will be storage items such as winter squash, garlic and onions. Seasonal flower bouquets will also be included. Other products from the farm are distributed equally among the members.
--The Farmers promise to do our best to provide you with bountiful shares. However, the quantity and quality of the produce may vary due to extremes of weather, insects or other factors beyond our control. By becoming Farm Members, you are agreeing to share not only in our bounty, but also in the risk of crop failure, with us and the other Farm Members.
--Food safety is of utmost important to us. We follow strict sanitary protocols which we are happy to share with Members. Please be advised that some items will not be pre-washed, so we recommend you wash your produce as you wish at home to ensure it is bug and soil free.
--Since we do not use any synthetic inputs, and wait an appropriate time after applying field sprays before harvesting, the choice to wash or not is yours.
--To ensure sufficient harvest for all our members we plan and hope for overproduction. Some of the produce will be made available to members who wish to preserve the bounty. Some will be fed to our farm animals to supplement their feed. The collective Farm Membership may suggest where other excess produce should be marketed or donated.
--Farm Members and your guests are welcome and encouraged to visit the farm to volunteer, hike, picnic, or camp in our campground. Please contact the Farmers in advance of your first visit.
