We work with many other charitable organisations to provide a diverse range of services including: a Community Pantry; support services such as CAB and Warm Wales; Warm Welcome with free drinks, toast and crumpets; Wellness groups and more.

Rivertown runs a weekly free lunch service which is now in its seventh year, called Food with Friends. This provides  a hot two course meal for about 20 to 25 people. In these challenging times we want to support families by providing a similar evening meal service called Food with Families. Initially for about 30 people. This is why we are asking for your help.

We will be seeking a grant to run a trial scheme and determine how many families need help and how often we can run the service hot meals for families. Our idea is to open up at 4.30pm for families can gather and either have conversations, play board games or, for children, do any homework. Then at 5.30pm serve each family a hot two course meal, with a takeaway service for partners who can't be there. 

We would like you to identify any families of any size who might benefit from this service. From your feedback we can identify the need and this information will support our grant application. 

When we launch the programme we will provide the school with vouchers for families so they can simply turn up with the voucher, in this way their names will not be shared.

The trial will start as soon as we have received the grant, in about 3 months. If the trial is successful and we determine the numbers and frequency we will submit applications for larger grant funding.
