Storyteller Survey
INTRODUCTION

Adverse Camber (www.adversecamber.org) is currently developing new programmes of work.  As well as returning to touring performances from Spring 2022, we are developing two new areas of work:

Producing socially engaged storytelling projects in communities. These will support people to make and enjoy powerful stories which resonate with hope and possibility for themselves and their communities

Supporting the oral storytelling community and profession to grow its capacity for storytelling excellence in both performance and community contexts.

This survey is designed to help inform the planning of both these strands of work, to ensure that we reflect the opportunities and obstacles experienced by people working to sustain a storytelling career and where possible addresses gaps in provision.  We also hope it will help storytelling to achieve more status, recognition and funding as a whole.

We know that the pandemic has changed everyone’s work patterns!  In the questions asking you about your work now and in the future, for 'now' you can answer based on what you were typically doing pre-pandemic.  For the future, we'd like you to describe your preferred scenario when hopefully COVID restrictions are less of a factor.

We may follow the survey up with individual or group conversations, we will ask if you are happy to take part.

The survey should take you about 30 mins to complete.  Sections 1 - 3 are the main questions about storytelling. Sections 4-5 are demographic tick boxes and will take less time.

If you have any queries do get in touch with us at hello@adversecamber.org and please complete the survey by MONDAY 7 FEBRUARY, 2022. We’re very grateful for your time and input and so are offering to enter you into a prize draw to win access to our next online performance of VÅR: the Story of Hervor on Sat 19 February 2022, or a £20 book token.

The survey can be entirely anonymous, or you have the option to add your name however, if you would like to enter the prize draw or take part in follow up conversations, you will need to provide your email address.
