The Graduate College University Grant (GCUG) is a need-based award to support students with financial need as determined by the FAFSA. The GCUG is intended for new and continuing masters and doctoral students enrolled in a campus-immersion graduate program.
NOTE: Only nominations submitted by the Graduate Faculty Program Director or their designee will be considered.
Nomination Deadline:
March 29, 2024, by 5:00 p.m. Arizona timeABOUT THE AWARD:Recipients receive up to $5,000 for each awarded semester, based on need. A student can only receive a total of four semesters of this funding during their graduate career.
In order to be eligible to receive this award:
- Student must be an eligible student, have a FAFSA on file, and have unmet need as defined by ASU Financial Aid and Scholarship Services*
- Student must be admitted or enrolled in a campus-immersion graduate program (Masters or Doctoral)
- Student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA (award will not disburse if GPA is below 3.0)
- Student must enroll for a minimum of 6 credit hours in the awarded semester(s)
NOTES FOR NOMINATING UNIT:Academic Units should submit no more than two (2) nominations per program.
*The Graduate College will send out a list of currently eligible students to academic units as soon as it is available.
NOMINATION AND AWARDING PROCESS:1. Graduate Faculty Program Director or designee, submits nomination form.
2. Once the nomination form has been submitted, an automatic confirmation email should be received immediately. If you do not receive an email confirmation of the nomination, please email
gcfellowships@asu.edu.
3. Nominating units will receive email notifications from the Graduate College approximately four weeks after the nomination deadline. Academic units are then responsible for notifying students of award decisions.
5. Student recipients must complete and return a Graduate College Confirmation Form to the academic unit by the date indicated on the notification; the academic unit then submits this to the Graduate College.
6. Graduate College posts awards which will disburse through ASU Financial Aid (at the beginning of each award term) following all applicable processes.
