To kick things off, our first three potlucks will celebrate the wonder of Slow Beans! Slow Food USA featured six Ark of Taste bean seeds for their Plant a Seed campaign this year and we see beans as a brilliant way to explore the basic tenets of Slow Food - Good, Clean and Fair. Beans not only are delicious, nourishing and inexpensive sustenance, but also environmental allies, and a conduit for justice and food sovereignty. 

Please plan to join us for our third Slow Bean themed potluck on October 13th! To round out our final of the bean-centered gatherings, we’re highlighting the FAIR of beans to discuss beans as an avenue for community connection, justice, and food sovereignty.  This will be a welcoming, fun, and informative space to share food and ideas with our community ending in us feeling energized and nourished.  

We’re excited to welcome our highlighted guest Zee from Cultural Roots, a Bay Area organization with the mission to grow a diverse and culturally relevant selection of vegetables, herbs, and trees for the communities they serve. She’ll share their work helping strengthen a food system that acknowledges and celebrates diversity and makes it more accessible to all. 

Confirmations will be sent out five days before the gathering and more details about location and dish preparations will be included.  If you need to cancel, please do so at least 48 hours in advance of the gathering so we have time to find someone to take your place. This is a small event (20 people!) with limited seats, so every single one of you counts! (Of course, if you have an exposure to Covid or aren't feeling well, last minute cancellations are absolutely appropriate.)
