Wakakirri 2022 Expression of Interest
The Wakakirri Story-Dance Festival is a national program for schools that develops student engagement and wellbeing through participation in the performing arts. Schools participate by creating Story-Dances which they perform in live theatres in capital cities and selected regional areas around Australia.

A Wakakirri Story-Dance is a 3-7 minute performance by a group of students who theatrically tell a story using a combination of dancing, creative movement and acting to pre-recorded music. Schools can tell any story and use any combination of dance, creative movement, acting, music, live singing, props, costumes, sets and film projections.

Schools can choose to tell any story that they wish. Schools’ performances are often inspired by the Wakakirri ethos ‘great stories inspire change’ and the annual festival signature motif (in 2022 the motif is RISE).

MacKillop Collage has signed for this fantastic program and you are invited to be part of the first ever MacKillop College Wakakirri Story Dance!!! We will be working with Wakakirri Facilitors to create OUR story!
