Job Description: As a Wild Chestnut Cafe kitchen team member, you will be cross trained in different areas of the kitchen. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask without sacrificing accuracy. Kitchen team members work the line, assist in food preparation, help with cleaning and stocking, using the dish station, and more. The position is part-time and in person at 22 Chestnut Street Florence, MA 01062.
Objectives and Expectations:
- Arrives to each shift prepared, on time, and ready to go
- Maintains cleanliness of kitchen area, equipment, and line during the assigned shift
- Responsible for food prep including washing, chopping, and shredding ingredients
- Prepares meals for customers and assures proper food handling practices
- Works well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Communicates and collaborates with other team members
- Able to follow instructions and maintains attention to details
- Any other duties assigned by the Kitchen Manager
Requirements:
- At least 18 years old
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and can stand for extended periods
- Fast learner, strong work ethic, time management skills, and multitasking abilities
- Basic knowledge of vegan cooking/food
- Self starter who is punctual and responsible
- At least 1 year of previous kitchen experience (preferred by not required)
- ServSafe Certification and Allergen Awareness Certification (preferred by not required)
