4-H & COH Plogging for Purple Event

Want to help the environment while improving your physical wellness? Join Delaware 4-H in plogging, an activity that combines jogging/walking and picking up litter. This initiative raises awareness of prevention while improving environmental, physical, emotional, and social wellness for all. The more times you plog and send your #(s) or bags of trash collected to kjohn@udel.edu, the more chances you will have in the raffle to win a $100.00 amazon gift card.

The goal of this initiative is to pick up as much trash as possible while you are out jogging or walking(plogging) or hiking (pliking). After your event, weigh how much trash you or your group collect, count how many bags, or take a picture and send it to Karen at krjohn@udel.edu. Participants will be responsible for proper disposal of the litter collected.

Participants will receive gloves, trash picker sticks per group, safety tips, and trash bags if needed to use when plogging.  Ploggers may be featured on our website. Learn more at https://sites.udel.edu/4h-prevention/.

We will have a live pick up event at Battery Park in Old New Castle on October 16, 2022 from 1-3:00 pm.  Sign up below to receive more details.

This project is made possible through the Delaware Division of Public Health’s Tobacco Prevention Community Contract. Funding for the Contract is provided by the Delaware Health Fund and managed by the American Lung Association in Delaware.
