Capital STEM Alliance at ESD113 - RISING STAR AWARD Nomination Form
Do you know a high school Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior who identifies as a girl/young woman who has inspired others through their work in a STEM area? If so, consider nominating them for the Rising Star Award! This Award highlights those who are likely to become the next generation of STEM leaders. Their accomplishments are inspirational for the people who nominate them, and we hope that by honoring them we will inspire more girls to reach for the stars and embrace STEM!
We are looking for young thinkers, scientists, engineers, inventors, entrepreneurs, and leaders who have inspired others with their STEM experiences, in and outside the classroom.
Nominees should be from a priority population (students of color, rural, and/or low-income groups), be attending high school as freshmen, sophomores, or juniors, and should identify as girls/young women.
Three regional nominees will be submitted to the Washington STEM State Rising Star campaign with one winner being selected. The Regional STEM Rising Star winner will receive:
- $500 stipend
- Various STEM-related goodies
- A trip to an in-person event at the Microsoft Bellevue campus
- Rising Stars will be featured on the Washington STEM website and in social media campaigns and have numerous networking opportunities.
