Board Members attend monthly board meetings at 7 pm on the Fourth Tuesday of the month. These are mostly held on zoom. Often the November and December meetings are combined and held shortly after Thanksgiving. Attendance at meetings is expected to be a priority for board members.
In addition to board meetings, Board members should plan to attend the annual meeting, congregational meetings, and other congregation-wide activities.
Board members are appointed as board liaisons to at least one key committee or task force. How that works will differ by board member & committee. Minimally the board member will attend committee meetings or check in with the committee chair at least monthly.
Board members may be called upon to work in a board sub-team to draft policies, responses, or other board work best done in a small group.
It is hoped that Board Members will bring their talents, skills, and passions to the work of the board. Board members should seriously consider accepting a leadership role or taking on some tasks for the board - if not me, then who?
Board members should be visible and ready to listen to congregant feedback wherever that may come from; bringing it back to the board or board leadership in a timely fashion.
