Barcelona Fall 2023 Study Abroad Ambassador Scholarship Application (due June 30, 2023)
Los Rios Community College District students may apply for a limited number of study abroad scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,000. These funds are made available through our partnership with the American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS).

Students receiving the Study Abroad Ambassador Scholarship agree to do the following, as requested by Los Rios or AIFS study abroad staff or faculty.

While abroad:
  • Document your insights and observations weekly via blog or questionnaires.
  • Collect visual program documentation in the form of pictures and videos.
  • Provide insights, observations, and visual documentation to the Los Rios study abroad office for possible inclusion on websites or other promotional materials. (This can be done by providing blog URL address or sending email updates to studyabroad@losrios.edu.)
Upon return from the program:
  • Help faculty and staff promote Los Rios study abroad programs at a limited number events, if requested.
Application tips:  
  • Explain why you should receive this scholarship. What makes you unique?  
  • Be thorough. Make sure to answer all three essay prompts.
  • Have a friend proofread your essays for any grammar mistakes, misspellings, etc.

A copy of your responses will be emailed to the address you provided.
