Thank you for your interest in the OVW Academy in Louisville, KY.  Over the past three decades, Ohio Valley Wrestling has trained hundreds of internationally recognized wrestling superstars and has served as an official developmental territory for major wrestling promotions.  Most recently, OVW was featured on WRESTLERS, a Netflix Docuseries that takes a look behind the curtain and into the wild and wonderful world of professional wrestling.  The OVW Academy is the only state-certified trade school of its kind.  Upon completion of our program, each student will receive a certification in professional wrestling and an opportunity to pursue a career in the field of sports entertainment.  If you think you have what it takes to become a professional wrestler the RIGHT way, keep reading!

Our curriculum was created by OVW’s Head Trainer Al Snow and his coaching staff. In addition to a storied career as a professional wrestler, Al has a reputation as one of the best trainers in professional wrestling. He has been featured on four seasons of WWE’s Tough Enough, was the trainer at OVW during our relationship as a WWE Developmental Territory, and has worked both in the ring and behind the scenes of professional wrestling for over 41 years.

Our One Year program is divided into four quarters, each quarter consisting of twelve weeks of class work.  In addition to in-ring training, our curriculum is unique because it includes courses in the History of Professional Wrestling, Ring Psychology, Sports Nutrition and Performance Training, Television Production, Social Media, Financial Management, and more.  This prepares the student for opportunities behind the scenes and increases the chances of success as an in-ring athlete through understanding the various roles behind the curtain.
