Texans for the Arts Local Engagement & Advocacy Director (LEAD)  Application

Thank you for your interest in our newest program, the Local Engagement & Advocacy Director (LEAD) Program!

If you are one of our members that is eager to stand with other leaders across the state to support a brighter future for the arts here in Texas and want to help others get involved in vital local arts advocacy work - this opportunity was designed JUST FOR YOU!

One of our core values at Texans for the Arts and the Texans for the Arts Foundation is simple: Better Together. There is no substitute for the power we leverage when we come together as one to achieve our shared goals, and this program is designed to inspire, educate, and empower passionate advocates to strengthen our greatest asset, our collective voice.

Through this program and the resources it provides our change-makers, we envision a robust network of arts LEADs representing every one of our 150 Texas State House of Representatives Districts and 31 Texas Senate Districts to share local stories, help organize their friends and neighbors, and represent the unique communities they call home to our decisionmakers. Throughout the calendar year, and especially during Legislative Sessions, LEADs assist in forging the local connections only they can, and help shape the core of our work at TFA(F).

Our team will be there to help you hone your skills and provide you with the resources you need to be successful at every step of the way. We envision a Texas where every citizen champions the arts as essential, but it all starts with local, passionate advocates--like you!--ready to lead the way.

UPCOMING OPPORTUNITES:

Texans for the Arts is proud to announce a series of 5 new awards created to celebrate those that are transforming our communities through the arts. Our LEADS will be part of the committee that votes on those recipients.

Our LEADs are invited to join us June 26-27, 2024 at the Waco Summit for Arts, Economics, and Equity to connect with other leading advocates, learn from industry leaders, and engage with the cutting-edge data supporting our work.

Later this year, LEADs will be invited to a tailored advocacy training, designed to cultivate leadership and prepare our participants for the 89th TX Legislative Session ahead.

These are the first of many opportunities designed for AND with our LEADs to ensure this program is an invaluable asset to our mission of fostering unwavering public commitment to the arts.
