Knitting vs. Crochet Data Collection
Follow the instructions included below to make 4 swatches (2 knit, 2 crochet), then provide your measurements with this form.

Instructions
For each swatch, use:
  • the same size hook and needles (I used 5mm)
  • the same yarn
  • the same yarn pull (either center or outer)
  • cut all tails to 6 inches before weaving in
  • do NOT cut the extra off after weaving in, it will count towards the final weight

Make the following four swatches:
  1. Knit: garter stitch, 20 stitches by 20 rows
  2. Knit: stockinette stitch, 20 stitches by 20 rows
  3. Crochet: single crochet, 20 stitches by 20 rows
  4. Crochet: double crochet, 20 stitches by 20 rows
MEASURE the time to make each swatch, including the time to cast on and chain, make the 400 stitches, bind off, and weave in both ends. 

Then, measure the weight and dimensions of each swatch and provide them using the form below.
