Open to teachers of Grades 5 - 12 in Maine, these evening book discussions will feature two graphic novels (written and illustrated by Don Brown) that focus on historical climate crises. The first graphic novel, The Great American Dust Bowl, begins with the cause of the Dust Bowl and highlights the experiences of people living in the affected areas. The second graphic novel, Drowned City, recounts the events surrounding Hurricane Katrina in the New Orleans area and how officials and community members responded to the disaster.
