Project re:Fresh Intern Application
Project re:Fresh, offers middle and high school youth in Alameda County a unique opportunity to refresh social muscles and academic skills through projects and trips. (Watch this 2-minute end of year recap video). 

With two after-school programs, in Oakland and Hayward, we hope to offer a unique opportunity to engage in hands-on learning grounded in intentional community.

We seek high school seniors and college students who can connect with our youth, have lived experience, and can peer mentor our youth in making curiosity and exploration exciting and important. If this calls to you, we would love for you to join our team!

Example responsibilities:

  • Help lead team-building activities and co-create projects with youth
  • Closely know, support, and advocate for youth in the program
  • Support with maintaining an orderly and safe environment
  • Work positively and collaboratively with a diverse team
  • Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Lead Coach

Ideal competencies:

  • Highly motivated to work with and mentor peers youth
  • Lived experience with foster care and/or other forms of housing insecurity.
  • Believes in growth mindset and the ability to “fail forward”
  • Desire to grow in creating and facilitating deep learning experiences.
  • Creative and enthusiastic team player who can be counted on to provide a safe, supportive, inclusive learning environment for everyone

Required qualifications:

  • On track towards graduation
  • Internet, Zoom, Google apps proficiency
  • Proof of COVID vaccination
  • Negative TB test results (<4 years)
  • Ability to pass Livescan background check
  • Resume with 2-3 professional references

Locations: (You will be able to convey your preferences in the application form)

  • Oakland | Monday and Thursday | 3:15-6:15PM
  • Hayward | Wednesday | 2-6:30PM
  • Pleasanton + other potential locations | Saturday (monthly) | 9-11AM

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $16/hr (during probationary first 2 months) and then $17.50/hr after.
