This camp is open to students rising grades 1st- 8th, any skill level. We only have space for 10 campers, so first-come, first-served!

We will focus on analysis, tactics, opening strategies, and endgame techniques. Beginners are always welcome. Children will practice their problem-solving and planning skills. We will study Grandmaster games and learn how to win and lose with dignity and grace. Campers will play chess variants such as "Take Me" and "Bughouse," which, besides being super fun, utilize and implement specific chess skills such as board vision and taking initiative. We will culminate our week with an in-house tournament, and there will be prizes at a small awards ceremony. Please join us Friday, June 19th, at 11:40am for this ceremony, if you are able to.

We meet every day from 9am-12pm with a break for snack. During our break we will walk over to the small playground at the ice cream shop to play a little outside. Sorry, no ice cream for snack. :) Feel free to bring a nut-free, easy-to-clean up snack for your child, and a water bottle.
