6th Grade Course Selection Form
Glenfield students have the opportunity to experience a wide-range of exciting elective classes, World Language offerings and/or supplemental Reading, Math or LA intervention classes during 3 elective periods.  
- Period 1 is a multi-grade elective and Period 8 and Period 9 are 6th grade only electives.  
- All intervention classes are scheduled with priority; students are then scheduled for elective classes where schedules allow.  
- Study Skills is scheduled during Period 1, the multi-grade elective.  Some students may be eligible to take Study Skills one day (A or B days) and another elective the other day, once discussed with In-Class Support Teacher and Child Study Team Case Manager.
- Please note that only elective courses listed on this form are offered to 6th graders.

World Language
All students are encouraged to have exposure to World Language during their time at Glenfield.  World Language classes are optional during the elective period where a student's schedule allows for it.  Students can opt to take a World Language or another period of electives.  Students may continue on the 3 year World Language course sequence for French, Mandarin or Spanish; once selected, students must remain on the same 3 year World Language sequence. These language courses take place on A & B days for the full year. In an effort to diversify our offerings, we also offer a semester-based World Language & Culture class.  Please see our Course Catalog for descriptions
CI Courses & Dance
Our CI elective courses take place during the traditional school day and have eligibility requirements. Students will be notified and scheduled for these courses, which will be reflected on final schedules.  If you have not already auditioned or submitted a portfolio for any of the following courses and are interested in doing so, please be sure to choose it under the period it is offered: CI Acting, CI Art, CI Chorus, CI Dance.

Glenfield offers a variety of dance classes that will now be offered as electives during the 7th grade elective period.  All students are required to take Physical Education (PE) including one marking period of Health, therefore dance classes are taken in addition to PE.
