Please note: at this time, we have separate positions that need to be filled in the bakery. THIS application is for the KITCHEN ASSISTANT. Keep reading for required qualifications and essential duties.

This position would be ideal for a multi-tasker who is a true team player. The ideal applicant will have general knowledge of working in customer service and/or a previous bakery. Our greatest need at this time is someone to help with cleaning, tidying and customer service during retail hours and vending at outdoor markets over the summer. This position will also end up helping with baking/decorating in the kitchen, but past experience is not necessary, as we are willing to train an eager and enthusiastic dessert lover!

Currently looking for someone with daytime availability, Wednesday-Sundays, between 20-30 hours per week. Saturday & Sunday availability is a must, as we're looking for someone willing to vend at farmers markets and events this summer.

Essential Duties:

- helping to keep a tidy kitchen, doing dishes, sweeping, mopping, etc
- inventory of kitchen ingredients and supplies
- packaging of food products and box folding preparation
- scaling and measuring ingredients to prepare and mix batters for cakes, cookies and cake pops
- working as a team with production of basic cake pops, sugar cookies, cakes, cupcakes and pastries
- helping to grow our bakery case sales and customer service of retail sales
- taking the initiative to learn new decorating and baking skills as the opportunity arises
- maturity to work with the general public and on your own to set up and break down for farmers markets and events throughout the summer.

Starting pay is variable based on past experience ($15/hour+). We are looking for a team player that is looking to have a great experience in a fun and low-key bakery (after all, we are putting cake on a stick!). ;) If contacted, we will require resume with references.
