Letter to President Hamilton
LCCEF will deliver the following letter to President Hamilton along with your name and optional comments.

President Hamilton –
I am a classified employee of Lane Community College (LCC), and I am represented by the Lane Community College Employee Federation (LCCEF). My union has been bargaining with the LCC administration since the summer, and the College has refused to offer any increase to wages for the 2020-2021 school year.
I know the current pandemic has created challenges for LCC, but it has also caused financial hardship for my fellow employees and me. It is true that some of us gained a step increase due to the “Us Too” arbitration; however, the increase only went to those who were not already at the top step of their pay range, so about half of us received no increase at all.
As you know, LCCEF’s recent compensation study clearly shows that LCC employees are paid far less than our counterparts at other public employers in the local area. Despite the great disparity, LCCEF has demonstrated a willingness to postpone the study results’ comprehensive implementation until the COVID crisis has passed. But still, the College refuses to offer any financial consideration.
LCCEF has tried to meet LCC half-way, and our proposals have been more than reasonable. I ask only for a raise that reflects the increase to the Consumer Price Index (Western Region) for the last year, which is 1.7%. Such an increase would at least keep me from falling further behind.
Thank you for your consideration.
