Teachers initiating their careers
The project “LOOP- Empowering teachers personal, professional and social continuous development through innova-tive peer-induction programmes” is co-funded by the European Union according to Erasmus+ programme (KA3 – Eu-ropean Policy Experimentation – Project no. 626148-EPP-1-2020-2-PT-EPPKA3-PI-POLICY) and involves 13 organisations from seven different countries: Portugal, Slovenia, Greece, Spain, Croatia, Germany and Italy. The main objective of the LOOP project is to contribute to the shift towards a comprehensive teaching profession policy that spans all stages of teaching careers, by developing, implementing and measuring the scalability of an induction programme based on mentoring activities to support the professional development of new/recent teachers.

To accomplish this, the consortium is conducting research involving new/recent teachers, experienced teachers and school leaders with the objective of identifying:
- existent induction programmes, levels of enrolment, strategies and resources for their implementation;
- existent/planned mentoring programmes for teachers and better understand how are being implemented or how can be implemented;
- the expectations and needs of new/recent teachers and establish the key features and contents to be considered in the induction programme to be designed;
- the “desirable” profile of a mentor to support and guide new/recent teachers throughout the induction programme;
- the key features, form and contents to be included in the mentoring programme allowing experienced teachers to support and guide new /recent teachers throughout the induction programme.

As part of the research, the consortium launched this questionnaire addressed to school leaders in the countries of the partnership with the objective of better understand their perspective and perception related to the aspects mentioned above. The questionnaire is organised in five sections:
I – About you
II – Initial teacher training
III - Peer-mentor activities: the role of experienced teachers
IV - Teachers’ induction programmes at your school
V – Your further involvement with the LOOP project

The questionnaires are individual, your answers will be treated confidentially, and used by the internal project team only.
