Lam Joar來自南蘇丹,現居於倫敦,目前擔任 One Young World 的計畫專員。他畢業於牛津大學難民與強迫遷移學碩士學位,其論文透過分析奧運難民隊,討論「菁英運動(Elite Sport)的參與如何影響難民融入與歸屬感」。在15歲時,Lam從南蘇丹逃往肯亞,成為了難民。由於傑出的運動能力,獲前世界長跑冠軍Tegla Loroupe的選入,於2015年成為首支奧運難民隊的一員。爾後,他加入Tegla Loroupe和平基金會,在奧運難民隊籌備團隊裡擔任協調員的角色,於2020年東京奧運擔任團隊助理。
Lam Joar is originally from South Sudan. Lam fled South Sudan when he was 15 years to Kenya and became a refugee. Because of his exceptional athletic abilities, he was chosen by former world champion Tegla Loroupe among the first group of the Refugee Olympics in 2015. In 2017, Lam decided to focus on his higher education and was awarded a scholarship to complete his undergraduate degree. He transitioned to working for the Refugee team through the Tegla Loroupe Peace Foundation and became the Camp Coordinator for the Refugee Olympics Team. Lam was the Refugee Olympics Team Assistant at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. Lam graduated with a master’s degree in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies from the University of Oxford. His master's research focuses on “How Participation in Elite Sport Shape Refugees’ Integration and Belonging”, a case study for the refugee Olympics Team. Lam is now the Programmes Officer at One Young World, based in London.
