Please watch this video where Jesus raises Lazarus to life.
People are made of living matter, and everything living---such as flowers, trees, and animals---changes, gets old, and dies.  Even people that we know die.

A person's spirit or soul --- the part that is in their mind and heart, their ability know and love---doesn't die.

A person's soul goes to Heaven to be with God even though their body  has died.  Heaven is being with God, who made us and loves us best.

Jesus promises us that at the end of the world, we will get our bodies back too.

So in this video, Jesus prays to God the Father to bring Lazarus back to life.  Why?  So that all the people who are there watching and waiting will know and believe in Jesus, the Son of God.

Even though Lazarus is resurrected -- his life on earth is still temporary.  Lazarus will die again because he is human.

After Jesus is crucified on Good Friday and is buried in the tomb, a guard is assigned to watch the tomb so that no one tries to move Jesus' body.

But what happens three days later?  That is right, it is Easter morning, and Jesus is alive again!  Jesus in his risen body, will live forever.  It is this Catholic teaching that is the most important truth.

Jesus' Resurrection is a promise to us that, we also, can spend forever in Heaven with God after we die.

How??  By living the life that God has planned for each of us.  But how do we know what that is?

By following and living the Ten Commandments each and every day, listening to our parents, being of service to each other, following the Beatitudes and praying to God to help guide us each and every day.

When Jesus brings Lazarus back to life, this means that Lazarus will live forever. *
