Hello everyone! We are so excited to have you attend UW-Madison's Filpinx American Student Organization's Philippine Culture Night (PCN)!
PCN will be on March 25th from 5-7pm at the Gordon Event and Dining Symphony Room, which is found on the second floor. Doors will open at 4:45pm. This event is completely free; we just want to gauge how many attendees we may be getting.
The theme for this year's PCN is "Kapuso: What Connects Us." In 1992, FASO was founded on the sense of Bayanihan, a spirit of community, that was driven by our Filipinx identity. 30 years later, bayanihan is still the center of our organization. As Filipinx Americans, we are able to foster new connections with other Filipinx Americans that originate from cultural similarities in traditions, food, beliefs, and more. These similarities come together to form our kapuso, a shared spirit, that drive our bayanihan.
With our first in-person PCN after a couple years, we are excited to show our attendees facets of our kapuso. We hope to emphasize the significance of kapuso and bayanihan for the Filipinx community. We encourage our attendees to reflect on their own communities' kapuso and how it is tied to the Filipinx community.
Please join us for a variety of performances and to learn more about Filipinx culture!
Semi-formal attire is recommended but not required.
