大學為學術自由及獨立思考之重地，擔負捍衛思想及言論自由之天職。2020年11月19日中文大學畢業生在校內以和平遊行表達意見，校園內言論自由理應受到尊重。然而校方未有保護學生，卻報警以對，做法有違教育理念。我們對校方做法深感遺憾，並予以強烈譴責。

A university is a bastion of academic freedom and independent thinking, it shoulders the role of defending the freedom of thought and speech. On 19 November 2020, graduating students of the Chinese University of Hong Kong expressed their opinions on campus in a peaceful protest. Yet, not only did the University not protect the students, but it reported them to the police in contravention of the principles of education. We deeply regret the University’s actions and strongly condemn them.

Please do not disappoint us and please maintain your independence.
