Here's some basic info about the product:
  • The enclosure will be made of black anodized aluminum and will come mostly pre-assembled.
  • The heatsink on the core internal processor will need to be replaced. All tools and parts for this will be included in the kit, as well as instructions.
  • No soldering will be required as part of the user-performed assembly process, which is expected to take around 15-20 minutes. Detailed step-by-step documentation with images will be provided.
  • The conversion will be fully reversible, in the sense that the synth can be easily re-assembled into the original plastic Korg keyboard enclosure.
  • We are tentatively expecting to price the kit at a special price of $159 for the first 50 backers, and $179 for all additional backers.
  • The kit will be initially launched as a crowdfunding campaign with expected delivery roughly three months after the end of the campaign. All design and engineering has already been completed, and vendors are ready to proceed.
  • The enclosure will accommodate a VESA mount (TBD: 75 x 75 mm or 100 x 100 mm, M4 screws), as well as side-mounting holes (also M4) for other attachments.
  • We may have angled wooden side panels available as add-ons, as well as metal brackets for joining multiple units at an angle. These would be sold separately.
  • We may offer assembly via mail-in service for an additional fee, and the buyer would also be responsible for return shipping.
