As Farmville Cares seeks to provide resources for those needing assistance in our community and those seeking to support local nonprofits in their work, we want to offer some clarification on what organizations will be prioritized in being listed in the database.

For the time being, Farmville Cares will focus on individual and family resources that are:
     - Meeting a critical need such as food, shelter or other resources essential for daily living
     - Nonprofits or state/government agencies (A for-profit business could be listed if they are offering a resource that is completely free and open to everyone.)
     - Locally based or have an official chapter/local board/etc. in our community (There are lots of wonderful national and international organizations that do great work, but these are typically easier to locate and have more visibility than many of our local resources.)
    - An organization that has a specific resource to offer (Avoid generalizations in order for folks to have a clearer understanding of what you can help with. For example, a church could be listed if instead of a general “we’re willing to help” the church had a specific resource like “we have a team of people ready to provide lawn care service for older adults” or “we have a benevolence fund to provide groceries for families that can’t afford it”. If your organization is willing to help, but don’t have a specific resource in mind, please consider using the Peer-to-Peer Volunteer Network.)

In the future, we can see Farmville Cares possibly growing to include a listing of all faith organizations in the community or providing a place for business support, etc. For now, our primary goal is to provide a listing for:
individuals and families who are in critical need of life-sustaining resources during this COVID-19 crisis.
Our community nonprofits to share ways community members can support them in their mission.
