CIW Travel Grants 2023 | Round 2
CIW Travel Grants are designed to support research or conference visits that:

have a substantial China, Taiwan, or the Chinese diaspora focus;
advance research;
have the potential to develop new networks outside the ANU; and
showcase and disseminate the University's China-related research achievements.

The small grant can be used to fund research or conference travel only.

Eligibility
Applications are accepted from ANU employees actively engaged in research or teaching that furthers our understanding of the Chinese world.

An application can be submitted only once funds from an earlier successful funding application to the CIW Travel and/or Research Support Grants have been fully acquitted. 
Selection Criteria
Each application will be evaluated against the criteria listed below:

its focus on China, Taiwan, or the Chinese diaspora;
its potential to advance research;
its potential to develop new networks outside the ANU; and
its potential to showcase and disseminate the University's China-related research achievements.

Funding is limited and not all applications can be supported. The CIW Centre Manager and CIW Director will make the final grant decisions.
Funding Allocation & Conditions
Funding is in the form of a small grant up to $3,000 to contribute towards paying for economy airfares to and expenses related to travel, e.g. accommodation, in country travel, passport, visa, vaccinations and other preventative medicines.
Funds must be used within 12 months following receipt of the award.
If successful, funds will be transferred from the College to your School for disbursement to you.
Any unspent funds must be returned to CIW.
Successful applicants are required to submit a short report (up to 500 words) at the end of the award period.
If successful, you cannot apply again for this category until you have completed an acquittal (short report and financial statement) for any outstanding CIW Travel and/or Research Support Grants.
