Later this year,
Render will release
High Availability PostgreSQL for team accounts. When enabled for a database, Render runs
two instances of the database in different availability zones to allow for fast failover in the event of downtime.
Before we release this feature broadly, we'd love to enable it for a few teams to source feedback. If you have a team account and are interested in participating, please submit this form!
To participate in early access:
- Your Render PostgreSQL database must belong to a team account.
- Your database must use a Pro or Pro Plus instance type.
- Your database must use PostgreSQL version 13 or later.
- You acknowledge that if you enable High Availability for a database, Render runs two instances of it instead of one, and your team is billed accordingly for resource usage.
- You acknowledge that enabling High Availability for a database requires a restart, which makes the database unavailable for approximately five minutes.
If your team is selected, we will not automatically enable High Availability for your team's databases! Instead, you can enable High Availability for individual databases from the Render Dashboard at your discretion, at whatever time is appropriate to accommodate a restart.
Please note that we can't guarantee a response to your request. Thanks so much for your interest!
