Please complete and submit this form no later than 5:00 pm on Friday, May 24th to let us know if you're planning on joining us on our chapter hike on the Memorial Day holiday Monday morning, May 27th. We'll send a confirmation email by 7:00 pm on the 26th with last minute details (location, weather, etc.).
John Saxon will be leading this
ten mile hike on the Mountains to Sea Trail and Laurel Bluffs Trail along the Eno River between West Point on the Eno to Rivermont Drive in Durham. We'll meet at the
Hugh Mangum Museum of Photography (restrooms available) in the
West Point on the Eno park
5101 North Roxboro Rd., Durham, NC. Please arrive by 8:30 am so we can get ourselves organized and starting walking no later than 8:45. This is a ten mile "out and back" (five miles out and five miles back) hike from West Point on the Eno to the Pump Station Trailhead in Eno River State Park. The hike is rated as moderate (because of distance) but the trail is well marked and almost completely flat. Great river views and the mountain laurel should still be in bloom. The only restroom facilities and water are at the beginning and end of the hike. Approximate walking time is four to 4.5 hours. We
might organize a quick lunch meet up after the hike if folks are interested.
As always, bring water and dress for the weather. Hiking poles are recommended. Feel free to bring friends or family members. Sorry: No dogs allowed per American Pilgrims guidelines.
