The Athens Area Chamber of Commerce annually recognizes a small business for extraordinary success within the company and the community. Please help to highlight a local business for this prestigious award by nominating them (self-nominations are welcome and encouraged)! The recipient will be announced and the award will be presented at the Chamber’s virtual Annual Meeting in February, 2021 (details to follow).
Award Criteria:
•
Nominee must have an active business in Athens-Clarke or Oconee County with no more than 50 full-time employees
•
Nominee must have been in business at least 3 years
•
While chamber membership/participation is not mandatory it is valued in making this determination
Nomination submissions should be no more than 2 single spaced pages long.
Criteria will be weighted to include the following:
•
Leadership/Citizenship (40%) – In what ways has this company been actively engaged in making the Athens-Clarke County area a better place? This might be indicated by financial contributions, volunteerism, leading a community improvement effort, etc.
•
Financial Continuity/Growth (25%) – Has the company continued to maintain profitability over the last 3-5 years?
•
Market Leadership (20%) – Is this company respected in its business sector (or in the Athens community) for its corporate culture, innovative product line(s), and/or its unique positioning as a great place to work?
•
Response to Adversity (15%) – It is not unusual for a company to overcome great adversity in becoming extraordinary. Has this company realized adversity? How did they handle it?
