Academic Resource Center Tutors are Niskayuna High School students who work one-on-one with their peers to offer academic support in all subject areas.
Students in grades 10 - 12 who are in good academic standing and who enjoy helping others learn are encouraged to apply.
Tutors receive volunteer hour credit for their ARC service.

Tutors offer assistance in core subjects and languages, but may offer support in other academic areas as well.
Tutors may specialize in particular subject areas in which they excel.  Some tutors offer virtual tutoring in addition to or in place of in person tutoring.

Tutors must be willing to volunteer their time during free mods on a consistent basis. Tutors must be reliable, dedicated, and committed to the ARC and its students.
New tutors must complete a mandatory training session before they can begin tutoring.  After your application is submitted, you will be contacted about training session options.
In the event that in-person tutoring is not possible by September, tutors will be asked to conduct virtual tutoring over Google Meet.
