Summary: We Keep God's Commandments - The Ten Commandments are much more than just a list of do's and don'ts. The commandments are a gift from God for forming a community. The commandments show us today, just as it showed the Israelites in Moses time, how to be human according to God's purpose. The commandments create a community of people who share one another's values and expectations. Their way of living makes God visible in the world and reveals who human beings are meant to be.
Great job on your lesson this week. Before we close out the lesson I would like you to complete one more worksheet entitled "Ten Commandments - Test My Knowledge". You will find a link attached to this lesson in my email for this week. Try to see how much you can fill in without looking at the Ten Commandments or the answer sheet which is also included. Don't forget to send me an image of your completed work.
Great job on your lessons this week. We learned a lot about the Ten Commandments and how important they are in helping to create a community where people love and respect one another. People who keep these laws recognize that God gave them to us because he loves us and by respecting and obeying these laws we in turn show our love to God. Now that you are done with Lesson 2 go to your sticker page and find your Lesson 2 sticker and place it at the bottom of the back page of your lesson handout! Super job!
