Student Registration Form:For students ages 12-18. Registration for these classes are limited.
This class will provide an in-depth look at the fundamentals of playwriting. This will include:
- Story Structure Analysis
- Proper Formatting for Play Scripts
- Delving into Characterization
- Exploring Conflict & Change in a Story
- Student led, playwriting debut - short scenes performed for a cold read during final class.
Students will be asked to dive deep into story structure and learn how to bring their vision for a play to life. They will be required to create and write a short scene that will be performed for a staged reading during the last class. They will also provide feedback to their fellow students throughout the creative process. Students will be asked to continue writing and working on their short scene outside of class time.
PLEASE READ: Students will be encouraged to bring a laptop or Chrome book to each class to assist with the writing process. If that is not feasible, students will be asked to print out their scene work along with pencils and paper and bring these items to class each week.
