Sexton March SAT Class (12 hours)
Overview:
Sexton is offering an eight session, twelve-hour, SAT course to prepare your student for the March SAT. This class will be taught by Merry, one of our Master Tutors. The course is designed to give your student a complete strategic overview of all three sections of the SAT. By completing this course, students will become familiar with SAT strategies and improve their knowledge of the most commonly tested topics.  From punctuation to systems of equations to historical reading, this class will comprehensively address all of the important topics on the SAT. The skills and tricks learned during this unique course will undoubtedly increase your student's score.

Teacher:
Merry currently works as a college guidance counselor and math teacher at Newton Country Day. She graduated from Boston College with a Master’s degree in Applied Developmental and Educational Psychology and a certificate in Positive Youth Development. Merry has been with Sexton since October 2016; however, before coming to Sexton, she volunteered and worked for four and a half years at an SAT and college preparatory non-profit program that provided help and guidance to low-income high school students in the Boston area. Through this program, she tutored both sections of the SAT, and helped students with their personal statements. She also served as the site director for two of the high school’s semester-long programs. During the summer, Merry is the Assistant Director of a summer camp in New Hampshire, where she enjoys teaching sailing, and tennis, as well as mentoring the campers and counselors. Merry has a firm belief that students are worth more than their test scores, which is why she has enjoyed helping so many students stress less about their test-taking abilities over the years.
