We seek 7 persons to serve on our transition team for six to nine months. A transition team can help the interim pastor guide the congregation through prayerful reflection, communal conversations, and deep discernment about what God might have in store for the church's next season of life.
The transition team will create and facilitate small groups to allow church members to share their responses to questions like: Who is God calling your congregation to be? What do they see as the mission of this church? and Who are you being called by God to serve? The transition team will then use the information and insight gained from members to write the local church profile which will be used for the church's search process for our next settled pastor.
The importances of this work requires each member to make the transition work a high priority in the following ways:
a FAITH commitment: Regular prayer and listening to God's "still small voice."
a TIME commitment: Initially meeting weekly, then as often as needed to facilitate small groups and eventually work on writing the local church profile.
a CONFIDENTIALITY commitment: If someone shares something in a small group setting they do not want to share outside of the group, transition team members will honor confidentiality.
