Thank you for your interest in judging for the 2023 Hudson Data Jam competition! Your scientific, artistic, and/or educational perspective(s) are valuable to the Data Jam judging process.

Data Jam challenges in grades 4-12 to interpret trends in local ecology datasets and then communicate these trends through an artistic medium of their choice. In past years we've received a comic book about declining bee populations, an interpretive dance based on PCB bioaccumulation data, and a parody rendition of "Bohemian Rhapsody" about glass eel migration, among hundreds of other submissions. It's an innovative and fun way to engage kids with science, and previous judges have said that it's a blast!
 
Each judge is assigned 5-6 projects to assess during the weeks of March 17-31. An evaluation rubric is provided for your use and the time commitment is about 30-45 minutes per project.
