Form to return to show Interest in becoming a SLAMS Home and School Association (HSA) Board Member
We are looking to fill the following positions:
Second Vice-President
The Second Vice President shall: Recruit volunteers and solicit members to volunteer for various events.Work in close partnership with the SLAMS Assistant Community Partnership Coordinator to support parent engagement for school activities and events (i.e. mini-courses, etc.).
Second Secretary
The Second Secretary shall Maintain Board calendar, Post Board-approved communications via the Advisory Memo and Google group, following review by President and/or First Vice President, Maintain good working relations with SLAMS Assistant Community Partnership staff, maintain social media sites for SLAMS HSA
Second Treasurer (co-treasurer)
The Co-Treasurers shall: Have charge of all funds, Receive and handle records of all paid members, Pay all bills with approval and countersignature of the President or one other voting Board Member in the absence of the President, Keep an accurate record of receipts and expenditures, Present a statement of finances at each meeting and give the Secretary a copy, Keep records in such order that they may be audited at the end of each year, Keep in compliance with all tax laws.
5th Grade At Large Member
6th Grade At Large Member
The two (2) At-Large Members:
Shall consist of a 5th grade parent and a 6th grade parent, Will ascertain that the voice of the 5th and 6th grade community are heard, Will collect ideas about inclusion and community building and education of project based learning are put forth especially for 5th and 6th grade families.
The work is fun and collaborative and supports the teachers and students at SLAMS. All Interested parties, please submit by Friday, May 24, 2019
The purpose of SLAMS HSA
To promote engagement with parents and guardians by being a vehicle for learning about project-based schools and other unique qualities of SLAMS, thus serving as partners in students’ learning and growth.
To promote cooperation as well as increase communication and networking between home and school.
To help build a stronger SLAMS community by deepening the partnerships between families, students, teachers and staff and by utilizing the many resources that exist in our family/school community.
