2022-23 Rowan Music Therapy Auditions
We are glad you are applying to the Rowan Music Therapy program!

In addition to auditioning for an instrumental or vocal studio, students applying to the BM in Music Therapy need to also complete a separate audition and interview. If you are unable to do your audition in person, then please video your audition selections. The audition for the music therapy program requires you to sing a song while accompanying yourself on either piano or guitar. This may be a pop tune, children’s song, original composition, or a selection from a musical.

If you plan to audition in person, then you will meet with and perform for music therapy faculty during your audition day, when you will also be interviewed.

If you plan to audition virtually, then video record your audition song and save your video to a filesharing site (Dropbox, GoogleDrive) or to YouTube. Please ensure you have set your permissions so that your files are accessible, and then copy and paste the link to your video in the form below. We will be in touch with you to schedule your interview over Zoom, please share your availability in the form below; if you do not hear from me within a week of submitting this form, please email Dr. Hunt to follow up.

All applicants should complete an essay. The essay should be no longer than 1-2 pages, addressing the following questions: "What is one example of how music has helped you with a challenge or problem? How does this relate to your desire to be a music therapist?" Copy and paste your essay text into the text option below.

If you have any questions about the audition requirements or process, please do not hesitate to follow up and email me directly: hunta@rowan.edu.
