Global Education Day at ISTE 2019
Thank you for interest in the 9th annual Global Education Day at ISTE! We're looking forward to seeing you at our event on Sunday, June 23, 2019, at the Philadelphia Convention Center. We will start promptly at 2:30 PM and end at 5:15 PM.

This year, our registration procedure changed and attendees are required to register for the main ISTE conference. There is no other registration required for Global Education Day; our capacity is limited and seats will go to ISTE attendees on a first-come, first-served basis. If you sign up to facilitate a project, to give an ignite talk, to share information about your org, or to participate in the Global Resources Smackdown, we will reserve one seat for you. Additional spots will be reserved for event sponsors.

Applicants for ignite talks and project facilitation spots must be educators in K12 non-profit schools or organization leaders from non-profits. If you represent a for-profit school or company, you are welcome to attend our event, but you must be a sponsor of our event in order to take on a leadership role. Contact Steve Hargadon at hargadon@gmail.com for more information on how you can support our work to connect educators and organizations around the world.

Read the following information carefully.
GED Leadership Roles
1) Design sprint facilitators - This year, we will invite attendees to brainstorm and design global collaborative projects, celebrations, or events to take place roughly between June 2019 and June 2020. For example, a group may want to design a project around a particular UN Sustainable Development Goal or plan a collaborative activity for Global Collaboration Week. We need facilitators for this; no particular expertise required. We just need your enthusiasm!

2) Ignite speakers - We also will be hosting ignite talks. Ignite talks are very short presentations with 20 slides that auto-advance every 15 seconds. These presentations should relate to global education topics.

3) Global Resources Fair - We will host an informal global resources fair at GED and will have tables available where non-profit organizations and sponsors can place materials for attendees.

4) Global Resources Smackdown - Sign up for the Global Resources Smackdown. This annual activity occurs at the end of this session. Volunteers sign up to show a tool or resource that supports globally connected teaching and learning.
