RCSLT DS CEN
Down Syndrome CEN: working to support children and adults who have Down syndrome.

We are excited to announce that the DS CEN has relaunched! Membership provides access to a network of speech and language therapists and associate members with an interest in Down syndrome (e.g., researchers) as well as SLT assistants and students. The group aims to provide guidance and information regarding speech and language therapy services for children and adults who have Down syndrome.

There are 3 categories of membership:

1. Full member of the DS CEN (£10 annual fee): to be a full member you must be a current member of RCSLT (either as a therapist, therapy assistant or student). This membership includes access to meetings, CPD events/study days, supervision opportunities and journal clubs.
2. Associate member of the DS CEN (£10 annual fee): to be an associate member you must have relevant current research and/or published research affiliated with a university. This membership allows access to meetings, CPD events/study days, research discussion opportunities and journal clubs
3. Friend of the DS CEN: anyone can register as a friend of the DS CEN and be added to the mailing list. We encourage professionals working with children and adults who have Down syndrome (including OTs, teachers, Teaching Assistants) and particularly parents to join. This includes regular updates from the CEN following meetings and study days (please note that attendance at meetings and study days is not included). Information about training, support and relevant information including information on research projects, will be shared via newsletters and the website.
