Please use this form to submit your request to distribute materials/flyers or offer services to schools within the Lafayette Parish School System.
All materials shall enhance the educational mission of LPSS, either directly, or by providing information relating to the educational, athletic, civic, or community opportunities or activities which support the education of LPSS students.
LPSS will consider the approval and distribution of:
- Flyers from organizations/companies with programs directly benefiting students and/or support the educational mission of LPSS.
- Materials from community partners such as parish government, department of health, United Way of Acadiana, and other partner agencies.
- Flyers that promote an educational experience for students or parents, a healthy use of leisure time, and/or a special enrichment activity provided at no cost.
- Reward benefits for students and/or employees such as ticketing opportunities from area universities and professional sports teams or coupons offering a complimentary product or service (with no conditions of purchase) as part of an incentive or academic reward for students.
LPSS will not consider the approval and distribution of:
- Materials for projects, activities, or programs that would publicize or promote a particular political party, political organization, or political viewpoint. Includes materials that are defamatory about public figures.
- Materials for projects, activities, or programs that would publicize or promote a particular church, religious organization, or religious viewpoint.
- Materials deemed not suitable for children (obscene, vulgar, or otherwise inappropriate for the age and maturity of the audience) including materials or advertising for tobacco, alcohol, illegal drugs, or other controlled substances, and or movies or products unsuitable for children.
- Materials that position the district on any side of a controversial issue or discriminate against or attack any group or individual based on gender, race, age, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, disability, or other unlawful consideration.
No commercial advertising will be allowed. Should an activity be considered a valuable service or benefit to the students or school community, permission may be granted by the Office of Communications on a case-by-case basis.
All materials distributed by outside groups must have the following disclaimer properly displayed, "These materials are neither sponsored or endorsed by the Lafayette Parish School System. LPSS has neither reviewed nor approved the program, personnel, activities, or organizations announced in this flyer. Permission to distribute this flyer should not be considered a recommendation or endorsement of the program by the school district"
Requests will be processed and notification of approval status sent within 7 business days. Please be advised that approval is considered permission to contact principals and in no way implies any obligation on the part of the school or school principal. The decision to participate in the distribution of materials, programs, services, or offerings lies solely with the principal.
