Pupil Acceptable Use Policy 2023-24

These rules help us to be fair to others and keep everyone safe.

  • I will ask permission before using the Internet.

  • I will only look at or delete my own files.

  • I understand that I must not bring software or removable storage devices into school without permission, including smart watches that include cameras or communication ability.

  • I will only email people I know, or my teacher has approved and the messages I send will be polite and sensible (KS2 only).

  • I will not give my home address or phone number, send a photograph or video, or give any other personal information that could be used to identify me, my family or my friends, unless a trusted adult has given permission.

  • I will never arrange to meet someone I have only ever previously met on the Internet.

  • I will not open an attachment, or download a file, unless I know and trust the person who has sent it.

  • I will not use Internet chat rooms or instant messaging services.

  • If I see anything I am unhappy with or I receive a message I do not like, I will not respond to it, but I will show a teacher / responsible adult.

  • I am aware that some websites have age restrictions and I should respect this.

  • I understand that the school may check my computer files and the Internet sites I visit.

  • I understand that if I deliberately break these rules, I may not be allowed to use the Internet or computers.

The school may exercise its right to monitor the use of the school’s computer systems, including access to websites, the interception of e-mail and the deletion of inappropriate materials where it believes unauthorised use of the school’s computer system is or may be taking place, or the system is or may be being used for criminal purposes or for storing unauthorised or unlawful text, imagery or sound.
