KZNaz WORSHIP TEAM COVENANT                             YOUR COMMITMENT:                                                            ❏ Here in the KZNaz Worship Team, your top priority and first responsibility is to grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ. Therefore, you must commit daily to spending time with God through prayer, the reading of God’s Word, and worship. Your personal spiritual growth is crucial in your ability to serve, giving you the power and spiritual vitality to lead others in their own relationship with God. Serving in this ministry, whether on the platform or behind the scenes, is a testament to your walk with the Lord. As members of the Worship family, you will be recognized in public places as an ambassador of the Lord and our church community. Because of this, you must live not just to a high standard, but to God’s standard of holiness and purity according to 1 Peter 1:15-16 and Ephesians 5:1-5. This commitment to spiritual growth is your first and highest commitment.                                                             ❏ It is also important for you to be committed to our Worship Team. Please understand that being a part of this team means you will live out our values. You must also make practice, rehearsals, services, and other team gatherings a priority. This is not an extracurricular activity that you can simply float in and out of each week. Rather, this is a community of people you are committing to join in serving regularly as we continue to move forward in an effort to offer our very best to our God, our church, and our world.                                                                                        ___________________________________________________MISSION:                                                                                    ❏ Simply put, our mission is to lead our church into the presence of God through the use of our God given musical abilities.  We do not seek individual attention or glory.  We are one team with one mission; to Honor God through music.                                              ___________________________________________________POSITIONS:                                                                   ❏Worship team ❏ Each and every team member is a part of worship. Worship is not just singing or playing an instrument, it is the posture of the heart. When we do everything with a heart focused towards glorifying God we worship him with our all. Each and every position, when done from the right heart posture, joins together in our worship experience.                          ❏Band ❏ Our band members provide modern-style, inspired musical accompaniment for our various worship experiences. The band is primarily made up of keyboardists, guitarists, and drummers. These key individuals contribute greatly to the quality, freedom, and authenticity of the worship atmosphere. Though music charts are provided, these musicians commit to a high level of musicianship allowing for creativity and spontaneity.                                                             ❏Vocalists ❏ Our vocalists encourage, inspire, and model authentic expression of worship. These gifted singers have the ability to sing harmony parts with solid pitch and tone while maintaining a spirit of worship that encourages participation from the entire congregation.                                                              ❏Worship Choir ❏ This group of individuals are the on stage support for the Vocalists.  Their worshipful spirit is so important in engaging the congregation and setting the stage for the worship service.  Maintaining a posture of worship is crucial.  This is not a traditional choir in the sense that parts must be learned and followed.  This is a group focused on the presence of God and using whatever abilities they have for him.              ❏Worship Leaders ❏ Our Worship Leaders are individuals who have sensed God’s calling to take on greater responsibility and have demonstrated the leadership, musicianship, and spiritual giftings to lead groups of people in worship. These leaders are chosen and mentored by the Church Board with the intent of expanding our ability to provide more leaders for the various worship experiences.                             ❏Technical Team  / Audio❏ These team members manage all audio equipment. Their role is to make sure our services are clear, energetic, and consistent. It is important that these individuals have a musical ear to insure the mix in the house is of the highest quality.     ❏ Media/ Lighting ❏ These team members run all graphic content, lighting, and the technical gear involved to help lead the congregation and worship team in the story we seek to share visually.                     ❏ This person monitors our online feed for our streaming. They will be in charge of troubleshooting any issues with the online stream after their training. They will also be interacting with our congregation that joins us online through our streaming platform.          ___________________________________________________KEY Points:                                                                     WORSHIP IS NOT JUST SUNDAY MORNING                     ❏ Worship leading is not just something that stops when we walk outside of these doors. Worship leading continues into the week and flows through you. Our goal as worshipers is to grow closer to our heavenly father through the week in our own personal God time. This is not something we monitor, but when we are with the father in our week it will become abundantly clear to our leadership team and to the congregation.                                                           ___________________________________________________PRACTICE ALONE, REHEARSE TOGETHER                       ❏ We don’t just show up and hope for the best. We work hard so that we come to rehearsal prepared with our best. Rehearsal is a collaborative effort of what we have learned at home. This effectively honors each other's time and preparation for the rehearsal.            ___________________________________________________TO BE EARLY IS TO BE ON TIME, TO BE ON TIME IS TO BE LATE, TO BE LATE IS TO BE LEFT BEHIND                    ❏ This is another note to respect for others’ time. When we set a rehearsal time the expectation is to start soundcheck at that time so we are not sitting around waiting for one individual to set up their gear. If you have gear to set up, plan accordingly so that it can be set up by rehearsal time.                                         ___________________________________________________STAGE PRESENCE                                                                    ❏ No, this is not a performance. But this is worship. Your job as fellow worship leaders is to point members of the congregation towards our God in worship. They (the congregation) often want to engage more but question if its ‘socially acceptable’. Don’t feel like you have to lay prostrate on the floor but do engage with your face and worship in your entirety. Whether it is with your instrument, with your singing, or even when you’re in the congregation, make it so people feel comfortable to worship however they please.       ___________________________________________________DRESS CODE                                                                            ❏ When we are on stage, we have a particularly high calling: leading people into the worship of God. To that end, we must be extra vigilant that our dress and our behavior do not distract people from worship. This means that behavior and dress that may be perfectly appropriate in any other situation may not be appropriate in this context.                                                  ❏ While on stage, be aware that every movement and action is visible for people to see. You should not be wearing anything that you are going to have to tug at on the stage, for example, pulling pants up, shirt hems down, and tops up or fixing straps.                                     ❏ Think about dropping something on stage and picking it up. Are you appropriately covered up during the whole maneuver from every angle?                            ❏ Men                                                                                         ❏ Dress Shorts ONLY                                                             ❏ No tank tops                                                                         ❏ No graphic T-shirts or apparel with logos or text that would not represent the church or our Lord in an appropriate manner.                                                                ❏ Women                                                                                   ❏ Knee-length dresses/skirts (remembering that our stage is elevated)                                                                     ❏ Covered shoulders                                                             ❏ No low-cut tops                                                                  ❏ No leggings without covering                              ___________________________________________________SOCIAL MEDIA                                                                         ❏ You are an example. You are associated with the church. Often times when our community thinks of the church they think of the people that attend the church, and they would be right to do so. The church is not our building but a body of believers. People tend to make snap judgments about the church because of the things posted on social media.                                            ❏ When you post on social media ask yourself:              ❏ Is this what the church is in support of?                      ❏ Does this bring people together or does it push people away?                                                                           ❏ Does this bring glory to God?                                         ❏ We should not post slanderous and negative opinions, revealing pictures or videos, vulgar language, and anything else that is not appropriate for a church setting. We are called to make disciples of all nations, that means posting things that do not prohibit or hinder us from doing so.                                           ___________________________________________________PERSONAL GEAR                                                                      ❏ At KZNaz, there is limited storage space for gear. Also, remember that the space is used by various groups and activities throughout the week and the church should not be liable for personal equipment left by an individual. To avoid damage and theft, take personal amps, instruments, etc. home with you following services and rehearsals.                                     ___________________________________________________BE FLEXIBLE                                                                              ❏ Be willing to help find a solution when problems arise.                                                                                           ❏ Be flexible to try new things.                                            ❏ Use grace when dealing with other members of the team.                                                                                            ❏ Be patient.                                                                            ❏ Be willing to fill in on an on call basis when other members have to cancel or are not available.          ___________________________________________________BEING APART NOT JUST SERVING                                       ❏ Worship service is so much more than just the music. It is through the sermon, through giving, through prayer, and through the community, we worship through everything. That is why it is important to be a part of the church outside of the weeks that we serve. We are not just musicians that jump in when needed, we are church members that God has gifted musically to lead his people in worshiping him. This means that attending service regularly is important so that we may grow together as a church body!                     I hereby commit to the values and mission of the KZNaz Worship family and commit to serving God and worshiping him in all that I do.
