The KLEZMATICS and Special Guests singing not your grandmother's Yiddish.
Performers include:
- The Klezmatics - The only Grammy winning Klezmer band.
- Cantor Magda Fishman - A vocalist and veteran of the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene’s Soul to Soul SummerStage concert.
- Daniel Kahn - The Hamburg-based troubadour who mixes Yiddish, English, German, klezmer, punk, and folk.
- Eleanor Reissa - An actress, playwright, podcast
host, and Tony Award-nominated director who has sung in every major
venue in New York City and in festivals around the world.
- Josh “Socalled” Dolgin - A Juno-nominated pianist, singer, accordionist, and rapper from Montreal, Quebec.
- Lea Kalisch - A Swiss-born, NYC-bred Jewish singer, songwriter, and producer dubbed the “Eshet Chayil of Hip Hop.”

TIME: 6:30 PM - 9/ish10:00?? ( the show starts at 7pm) Arrive at 6:30 so you can help me save good seats and eat dinner together! Summerstage concerts often fill up, so you might not be able to get in if you don't come early.
This will go till 10pm, but I may not stay past 9pm. If the venue is crowded, we might decide to sit outside the venue, on the grass. If you don't see me inside at 7pm, text me on my cell, which is (917) 531-2202.

DESCRIPTION:
Celebrate Yiddish music with New York Sings Yiddish and join The
Klezmatics and Yiddish music stars for a massive sing-along. Presented
by Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage in collaboration with
the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene at the Museum of Jewish
Heritage, this event will see Central Park come alive with the beautiful
sound of Yiddish songs featuring the GRAMMY award-winning ensemble, The
Klezmatics, joined by an all-star line up of Yiddish concert and
theatre stars: Joanne Borts, Josh “Socalled” Dolgin, Cantor Magda
Fishman, Avi Fox Rosen, Sarah Gordon, Cantor Netanel Hershtik, Elmore
James, Lea Kalisch, Daniel Kahn, Daniella Rabbani, Eleanor Reissa, and
Lorin Sklamberg leading a 4,000-voice sing-along. Lyrics will be
projected on a giant screen and available via QR codes during the event.
Experience an unforgettable night of community, culture, and music with
musical direction by Zalmen Mlotek, celebrating the launch of
YiddishSongs.org, home of The Yosl and Chana Mlotek Yiddish Song
Collection at the Workers Circle.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
Dinner if you want to eat with us. I will have some light snacks. You might also bring a blanket to sit on, if we decide to sit outside the venue on the grass or on the ground between the stage and the bleacher seats.
WHAT SHOULD I AVOID BRINGING?
Please do not bring alcoholic beverages, glass, bottles, coolers, pets, bicycles, rollerblades, folding chairs, beach umbrellas, video cameras or tape recorders. No professional camera gear, telephoto lenses, or flash photography is allowed. All bags are subject to search. Beer and wine are for onsite consumption only and may not be removed from the venue. The distribution or sale of unauthorized promotional materials is not permitted.
RSVP DEADLINE -TUESDAY June 13. You can just show up without RSVP'ing, but please RSVP so i can get a sense of our numbers for the snacks.
