Qualifications
GPA of 2.0 or higher
Be a UNA student for the full August 2022-May 2023 school year
Proven track record of on-campus involvement/leadership
Interest and sensitivity towards cultural and religious diversity as well as multicultural issues
Ability to take ideas from concept to completion
Self-motivated with strong time-management skills
Positive ambassador for UNA and OIA
Positive attitude and high level of enthusiasm about working with international students
** Please note the responsibilities of Navigator and Residence Assistant (RA) have time conflict which would prevent an individual from holding both positions.


Specific Responsibilities
Act as OIA ambassadors and semester orientation leaders
Be a Lion Pride Mentor (details will be given at orientation)
Answer questions about life at UNA, American culture, and getting adjusted to college life
Introduce new international students to activities and services on campus
Facilitate at OIA events and activities
Be a connector of International students to campus activities, encouraging participation and relationship building

Requirements
1.  MANDATORY TRAINING: 2 training sessions: May 5, 2022 and August 9-10, 2022
2.  ORIENTATIONS: You must be available to participate in the following OIA Orientations (subject to change):
      a.  Fall New Student Orientation  August 9-18, 2022
      b.  Mid-Fall New Student Orientation  October 5-11, 2022
      c.  Spring 2023 dates will be given later
3.  MANDATORY TWICE-A-MONTH MEETINGS (subject to change): Set according to group availability
4.  OIA EVENTS: Navigators must be present at ALL pre-determined OIA events, unless there is an emergency or your absence has been discussed with the Navigator team leader and/or Assistant Director, International Student Services and Success. OIA events may include, but are not limited to the following: Global Lions RSO events, Travel with Me series (~4 per year), Homecoming Parade, Dances, Passport to the World, social events, on-campus weeknight events, etc.
Application Process
In addition to completing this application, each applicant must:
1) Submit a resume which highlights leadership experience and community involvement.
2) Submit a recent photograph of applicant or have a photo taken at OIA when turning in supplemental materials.
3) Answer the 3 questions at the bottom of the Application in paragraph format to help us learn more about you.
4) Participate in a private interview on March 14-18, 2022 at Powers Hall. A sign-up sheet for interview times is located in the Office of International Affairs front desk at Powers Hall.

APPLICATION DEADLINE:  Friday, March 11, 2022--All supplemental materials (resume and photo) should be turned in at Powers Hall front desk.
