Terms of Usage

[Last updated: Sep. 11, 2020]

Please read the terms below carefully. By submitting this form, he/she who will use the dataset referred to as <the user> in this form agrees to the following terms set forward by the K-EmoCon research team at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology referred to as <the dataset administrators> in this form.

1. Commercial use
Unless specified beforehand and granted permission from the dataset administrators, the user may not use the dataset for any commercial purposes, including the following:
    - proving the efficiency of commercial systems
    - training or testing of commercial systems
    - using screenshots of subjects from the dataset in advertisements
    - selling data from the dataset
    - creating military applications

2. Distribution
Upon being granted access to the dataset, the user may not redistribute the entire dataset or portions thereof, except using small portions of data to clarify academic publications or presentations. That includes sharing a secret link allowing the user to download the dataset, with anyone who has not been authorized to access the dataset by the dataset administrators.

3. Publications
Publications include not only papers but also presentations for conferences or educational purposes. All documents and papers that report on research that use any of the K-EmoCon will acknowledge this by citing the following paper:

"Cheul Young Park, Narae Cha, Soowon Kang, Auk Kim, Ahsan Habib Khandoker, Leontios Hadjileontiadis, Alice Oh, Yong Jeong, and Uichin Lee. K-EmoCon, a multimodal sensor dataset for continuous emotion recognition in naturalistic conversations. Sci. Data 7, 293 (2020). https://doi.org/10.1038/s41597-020-00630-y"

and the dataset:

"Park, C. Y. et al. K-EmoCon, a multimodal sensor dataset for continuous emotion recognition in naturalistic conversations. Zenodo https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.3931963 (2020)."

4. Changes
When a new version of the dataset is published, the user is required to submit a new request to access the newer version of the dataset. In such circumstances, the user may only submit a new access request on Zenodo but not this agreement form again, unless the previously granted access has not expired already.

The K-EmoCon dataset administrators reserve the right to change this user agreement form at any time; users will be informed about changes and given a choice to opt-out of the agreement. Opting out will render the existing agreement void, and thus the user will lose their access to the dataset.

5. Warranty
The dataset comes without any warranty, and the K-EmoCon dataset administrators cannot be held accountable for any damage (physical, financial, or otherwise) caused by the use of the dataset.

6. Misuse
If at any point, the dataset administrators have a reasonable doubt that the user does not comply with this agreement, he/she will be notified of the misuse, and access to the dataset will be immediately revoked.
