Please join us on May 5th from 6-7:30pm for a super casual but fun dinner and a book talk. We will hear from Rev. Rachel Cornwell, author of "Daring Adventures: Helping Gender Diverse Kids and Their Families Thrive."
In an environment where transgender and gender-diverse children are being targeted for political purposes, Rev. Rachel Cornwell, a United Methodist pastor and mother of a transgender son, has written a beautiful and helpful book for parents looking for "guidance and hope that all children are going to be OK." The book also addresses how a family's faith community can develop an understanding of and a commitment to learning, growing, and creating more safe spaces where transgender and gender-fluid kids and adults can be "surrounded with the love and support they need."
On the menu: Spaghetti and Meatballs from Paisanos! Donations to cover the cost of dinner are welcome, but not required! Questions? Contact Pastor Lauren, pastorlauren@sumc-cares.org
